Thank you for visiting the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), Alaska Geriatric Education Center (AKGEC) website. AKGEC was recently awarded a new three year grant to continue to train health care professionals within the state. We look forward to an ongoing association with all of you and forming new partnerships with new organizations and agencies.
We will be emphasizing new areas of focus within our health professions training venues. Loan Repayment for Health-Care Professionals
Applications are now being accepted for individuals who are willing to serve two years in health care sites within Alaska. A tax-free loan repayment benefit of up to $35,000 per year will be paid to lenders by the the State of Alaska. Visit http://www.hss.state.ak.us/dhcs/healthplanning/sharp/ for more information.
