On April 25, 2005, the Alaska Geriatric Education Center, Qualis Health, the Anchorage Pioneers' Home and Providence Continuing Care Services sponsored the first ever Eden Alternative Train-the Trainer workshop in conjunction with a three-day Certified Eden Associate (CEA) training. Eleven nursing home and assisted living home staff from throughout Alaska were selected to be the first nationwide to receive this training. The Board of Directors for the Eden Alternative, as a recognition of the special travel consideration in Alaska, elected to advance new training practices in the state for training future CEAs. Nancy Fox, the Executive Director for Eden Alternative, Inc., and Carol Ende, the Eden Alternative National Mentor, provided the content expertise for the training.
